Parklife and Barricade
Circus Facilitator
Images (below) from Parklife, 2009-2010. A community project, created and directed by Orit Azaz and produced by Ali Williams, for No Fit State Circus. In two-week residencies in different parks, we met with locals, performing light-hearted daytime interventions, learning skills from community groups, and sharing our circus environment. This would culminate in a public show featuring circus professionals, volunteers, interns, and community participants. Each residency was extraordinary, exhausting and hilarious. The show was preceded by workshops with local groups finding sculptural and acrobatic things to do with all manner of tyres. Groups came and performed with their tyres before shows of Barricade.
